Heritage Restoration — Mosman

This magnificent Victorian-era home in Mosman required sensitive restoration work to preserve its heritage features while updating the interior for modern living. The property is heritage-listed, so all work needed to be approved by the local council and carried out using period-appropriate techniques.

Our heritage specialists began with a thorough assessment of all painted surfaces. Lead paint testing was conducted, and appropriate safety measures were implemented. The original timberwork — including elaborate skirting boards, architraves, and ceiling roses — was carefully stripped and restored.

We worked closely with heritage consultants to select colours that were appropriate for the period while appealing to modern tastes. The exterior was finished in traditional heritage colours, with the intricate fretwork highlighted in contrasting white. Inside, we used breathable paints that allow the old walls to continue functioning as they were designed to.

The project took 3 weeks to complete, with our team working carefully to ensure every detail was perfect. The result is a home that honours its past while being perfectly suited for contemporary family life.
