Federation Home Interior — Lane Cove

This beautiful federation home in Lane Cove required careful preparation of original timber features before any painting could begin. Built in the early 1900s, the property had accumulated decades of paint layers that needed to be properly assessed and treated.

Our team spent two days in thorough preparation — sanding, filling, and priming all surfaces. The original cornices and ceiling roses were carefully masked and cleaned before being refreshed with a high-quality flat white. Federation homes in Lane Cove are known for their ornate architectural details, and we took great care to highlight rather than hide these beautiful features.

For the walls, the client selected a warm off-white (Dulux Antique White USA) that complemented the original Baltic pine floors. Trims and architraves were finished in a crisp satin white, providing the perfect contrast. The result is a home that feels fresh and modern while honouring its heritage.

Dulux Wash & Wear was used throughout for its excellent coverage and durability, with Dulux Aquanamel applied to all trims for a lasting finish. The project was completed over 8 days with minimal disruption to the family.
